Half way during your 16 week training plan for a race or event is not the time to start thinking about changing your running form. However, if you are looking at starting a new training period soon, NOW is a great time to think about how you can make specific changes to your running in order to reduce injury & increase performance, so that when your next race 16 week race preparation program starts you have already got solid foundations in place.
Research shows that suitable modifications to running form can potentially reduce injury and therefore increase performance, and a full body video gait analysis can be a massively useful tool in seeing what changes will help you achieve this and become a stronger, faster, more resilient runner.
After just a year of training, Sally Baldwin entered the ITU 2014 World Triathlon Grand Final and took 4th place. Two months later in October, Sally took 1st place at the final qualifier for the 2015 Alcobendas ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships. At StrideUK, we had the honor of conducting a two hour video gait analysis to help Sally discover what aspects of her running & conditioning we could work on in order to help keep those gold medals coming. Sally was kind enough to give us permission to post four video excerpts from her gait analysis.
